Buy me a succulent fillet steak and I'll be putty in your hands!

In such a saturated market, it can be difficult to stand-out in the steakhouse crowd.

Miller and Carter is a fairly new kid on the block when it comes to UK steakhouses, with a variety of unique buildings and locations across the UK, from historic coaching inns and beautifully restored barns to chic shopping centres and even on a boat - all locations have one thing in common, a love for steak!

Most noticeably, I was impressed by the very generous side orders that come as standard with your steak order at Miller at Carter.

For example, alongside an 8oz prime fillet steak, you can expect to be served parsley butter, seasoned fries, a slice of their signature onion loaf, a balsamic glazed tomato, along with your choice of lettuce wedge and steak sauce.

Now a steak sauce of your choice, tomato, and fries are quite standard, however, paired with an onion loaf and a lettuce wedge too - surely that's bang for your buck?

Not only was the steak delicious and tender, the starters weren't half bad either.

For starters we had:

Served with pineapple and ginger dressed slaw

My hoisin duck wings were an ideal appetiser - the pineapple and ginger dressed slaw complimented the barbecued sticky duck meat.

Fancy a cocktail?

Miller and Carter have their own "crafted gin twists" menu where their mixologists have picked their favourite gins and paired with sublime ingredients to create four signature drinks.

I'm recently a gin convert, I'll be honest, people find it strange because I'm not your typical gin and tonic drinker, however, add some blueberries, pink peppercorns or elderflower tonic and I'm hooked, so I was more than keen to try one of the crafted signature four.

The "Sloely Does It" caught my eye with Williams Aged Sloe & Mulberry, a fruitful and sweet gin perfectly finished with Fever-tree lemon tonic and a lemon wheel for added sourness.

What's my summary?

For around £70 you can enjoy a steak to yourself with all the generous trimmings, plus a second course each with a cocktail or bottle of wine to share.
