A few weeks ago I was invited to attend a blogger event at Lush in Crawley. It was refreshing to have an invite to something local to me, and only 15 minutes drive down the road.

My sister was going to attend with me, however had to pull out last minute as she wasn't feeling very well which struck me with all sorts of anxious thoughts about whether I should go or not. I'll be honest I was very close to pulling out as was nervous about turning up on my own and not knowing anybody - stupid I know!

Anyway, in the end I plucked up the courage and knew once I arrived I would forget I was even worried in the first place.

Upon arrival I was greeted by the very warm and friendly welcoming staff at Lush Crawley - Mark, Elena and Laura. The blogger event was for us to get a first-hand preview and feel for the new Christmas range at Lush, explore the new products on offer and of course have a go at making our very own Butter Bear!

I was instantly at ease when I realised it was to be a very small and intimate event with only a handful of local bloggers, who were all super lovely and chatty!

I'll be honest, I'm not a huge beauty hauler, mainly because I've always had such sensitive skin which in the past has been very prone to allergic reactions so I tend to find my products and then stick with them as its a much lower risk strategy for me!

I guess I'll admit a little naive, I've always assumed that because Lush products are so bold and colourful in their appearance they must be full of all sorts of ingredients and colourings which would likely react with my skin - little did I know all Lush products are freshly handmade, 100% vegan and against animal testing!

At the event, the Lush Crawley team were stationed at different areas in the store where we could freely make our way around and explore the Christmas products on offer. Elena was on hand to talk us through the range of shower jellies - there was even a HUGE shower jelly snowman who were wobbling all over the place.

I expressed my concerns about wanting to use Lush products however unsure about how they would react with my sensitive skin and Elena assured me they experience lots of customers who were worried about sensitive skin, who all have had very positive experiences when using Lush products.

Laura was on hand to show us how to make our very own Butterbear bath bombs, which was really fun and we got to take home our very own creation, while Mark was happy to demo the new bath bombs and how they transformed once in water.

There is so much on offer in the new Lush christmas range and I'll definitely be considering products as stocking fillers for friends and family. All in all, I had a lovely evening and was really pleased I plucked up the courage to attend as I also met some really lovely local bloggers!
