Date Jar - Notonthehighstreet
When browsing notonthehighstreet.com I couldn't resist this gorgeous little Date Jar by The Green Gables I thought it would be the perfect anniversary present for Alex. It comes full of pre-written date ideas, as well as a handful of blanks to create your own date ideas. So if your having a bit of hard time arranging a date night this is a really cute idea to make picking a little bit more fun.

Today I bring you another home-ware post. Taking a little peek inside my home and sharing my favourite homeware pieces with you; which are mainly from your typical high-street stores!
Since moving out of my parents house and taking a big step forward onto the property ladder with my first mortgage I've found myself taking huge pride in looking after and decorating it. I've always been a very creative and expressive person and I feel that this is now reflected around my house.
It's great because when I'm bored with the layout, I can change it up whenever I like, and experiment with new looks.
I'm keen on filling my house with things that are visually pleasing to the eye. Home decorating has definitely been a creative outlet for me - which I find so much fun. There's nobody to say "no you can't hang a picture there", or "no you can't drill a hole there!" anymore, which I find so satisfying!
I feel like I've really been able to make this house a home for me and Alex.
Now I'm not only obsessed with clothing shopping, I'm obsessed with buying home-ware too!
My most recent addition to the living room is the beautiful three-piece Graham and Brown floral canvas pictured above my corner sofa. This was kindly gifted to me and I was so thrilled as I've been desperate to give the living room walls a splash of colour. As soon as I saw the canvas I knew it would look great against the dusk pink sofa. Since housing this canvas I've had so many compliments from family and friends about how great it looks.
Such a simple addition of colour can make such a difference to the feel and warmth of a room. I'm a big fan of canvases and have some other colourful displays placed around the house.
Recently I've been browsing my local homebase too - Inside there's a Habitat at Home which has had a recent sale, where I acquired the two vases to house my growing weekly flower collection and the candle holder on my coffee table.
Wheres your go to high street store for home-ware?
