Last week my northern family came to stay with us and we ended up taking a trip to Windsor,
specifically to visit the castle, say hello to the queen and have an educational history lesson!
I'll admit, I'm really not much of a history buff... but a trip to Windsor also held the delightful promise of fresh air, a change of scenery, exercise for my legs and there was bound to be a free dinner on the cards with family, when they all finally ran out of gas!
And of course I get to visit a new town I've never explored.
(Of course this is what appealed to me most!)
And what a beautiful place it was..
The cobbled streets were brimming with posh cuisine and bustling bars, and the odd 'Crooked House' or patisserie parlor!
There was lots of character and the buildings and architecture reminded me of my old home-town Chester.
It is indeed very hilly, boasting a huge castle, of course; thats going to be a granted feature, but oh how I'd love to go back and explore more.
It looks like the perfect little place for a weekend getaway with the other half.
Hoping to make up for lost time and post a lot more this week - watch this space.
xo.
Great photos! Such eye candy

Aw it looks so pretty! I love little cute places like this, Durham is quite similar in the centre, all cobbled and cute!
