With a busy lifestyle and weekends regularly spent exploring a new city, or a countryside retreat, its essential I have a couple of sturdy outerwear pieces I can rely on. I've been looking for on-trend pieces, which won't break the bank, and most importantly, which do their job at ensuring any sudden downpours of unpredictable english weather won't stop me in my tracks.
This brings me onto a new outerwear brand; Lighthouse clothing - with products inspired by the wild Irish sea and scenic shores, the jackets are designed for the perfect "lazy beach stroll and walks through the salty sea mist."
Ironically, products feature heavy attention to detail on nautical style; with striped rope drawcords and the iconic seaside landmark, the 'lighthouse' from their brand name and logo, carefully embroidered onto all their clothing.
As a recently launched clothing brand, their range is minimal, but features a couple of styles to suit all types of explorers. I received the Isla Short Waterproof Coat in a marine blue colour.
Most importantly this coat features a highly waterproof (5000mm) and highly breathable (5000 gsm) fabric and boosts a two year guarantee. Nestled inside, the lining is made from a soft cotton blend so you're sure to be comfortable all day long in this practical, yet stylish and beautifully crafted coat.
I'm very pleased with this coat as it's super comfortable and I love the classic marine blue colour as I'm a big ambassador of nautical colouring and style in both clothing and homeware.
Recently I also invested in a trendy and durable waterproof mac so I'm thrilled to have another high-quality waterproof item to add to my outerwear collection.
Someday I'd like to invest in a Jack Wolfskin jacket!
