Travel: Luxury Stay At The Swan Hotel & Spa, Lavenham
Recently I visited the beautiful medieval countryside village of Lavenham in Suffolk. We were lucky enough to stay at The Swan Hotel which is steeped in 15 centuries of history.
With its oak beamed interiors and at every corner a cosy nook full of character and charm; this romantic hotel is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
On arrival we were shown to our room, The Gainsborough Suite; which was more like a spacious apartment than a hotel bedroom. The bedroom led through to a roomy living area complete with open fire place and featured beautiful contemporary furniture which oozed warm orange and red tones.
It had a very luxurious feel and with the Weavers' House Spa only a staircase away from our bedroom, we felt perfectly situated to all the luxuries this hotel holds.
As soon as we arrived we were due for the Spa. If you book a spa treatment, or just use the facilities as hotel guests, they make sure to book you into a two-hour slot to ensure the spa facilities don't become over-crowded, meaning you can enjoy them in peace and tranquil relaxation.
I thought this was a great idea; especially for the outdoor plunge pool, as it is only small and would likely not be as enjoyable if you had to share with another 6 people at the same time.
I've been to a few different Spa's, however, the Weavers' House Spa boasted the most beautiful outdoor terrace, unlike others I had experienced. The vitality 'plunge' style pool is a fab addition to the outdoor space and its a great spot in the sunshine too!
With a 'fantastic' five star bubble rating awarded by the Good Spa Guide and an enviable partnership with award-winning brand Temple Spa, this an intimate spa experience not to be missed by any guests lucky enough to stay at the hotel.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, probably a little too much. We grew quite fond of our Suite and vacated with heavy hearts. It would be a lovely place to have a couple of nights kip and relax.
The food - was another story, and one which I will bring to you in another post.
Watch this space foodie lovers!
xo.
