What is this I hear you ask?
Meet Sprout by HP; a pioneering new desktop PC that re-imagines how you interact with the digital world!
A few months back, just as I was moving house, I was lucky enough to be contacted by the folk at HP and invited to collaborate with them and trial out this new digital-creative expression outlet.
With all my stuff packed away in boxes all over the place, I jumped at the chance to have my very own temporary desktop PC where I could have an all-in-one PC with the added bonus of a creativity workstation.
Now your probably wondering what the big overhead mechanism is.. and what the light-up Touchmat is used for?
On top, you'll find the 'HP Illuminator' which contains a digital light processing projector, scanner, as well as a three-camera system with a 14.6 mega-pixel and real-sense 3D camera.
Basically; in non-technical talk, its got the power and capacity to produce vivid, high resolution imagery. Meaning your able to take objects directly from the physical world and merge them seamlessly into the digital workspace within the Sprout.
As you can see in my last two pictures, I scanned in two objects; my favourite decorative pineapple and 'The perks of being a wallflower' book - once complete; its as if you could touch a second version!
Once you've scanned objects in, you've the freedom to directly interact with the Touchmat, as well as capturing, you can create and manipulate the content in whichever way you see fit!
Its great for any digitally savvy, hands-on creative who loves to immerse themselves within a expressive technology space.
I'll be bringing you a second post showcasing my own personal creative experience with the Sprout; focusing on a fashion holiday look-book and using the Sprout's creative features to present this.
Watch this space :)
